Slingshot Effect

2.8 Hours Later is a live zombie chase game that spans entire cities. Before it was sold, it was devised and run by run by Slingshot Effect, who in 2011 commissioned YMPT to research and write a feasibility study of running the game in Nottingham. Subsequently, they utilised YMPT for location scouting in the city for a Nottingham leg of the game, which took place in March 2013.

During the feasibility study, we identified significant confounding factors such as a lack of dry hire venues in the city, and an abundance of major roads limiting routes. When people play large scale street games, especially with horror themes or chase mechanics, they’re in a different mindset. Keeping them away from hazards like fast moving traffic is critical.
